I am on my lunch break and half of my work day is over. I am looking forward to the Bike ride we and others are going on this coming Sunday. The group is growing...... I hope it's not going to be too hot - Mike and I ride with full gear.
I was looking thru my books and found the cutest pin cushion and pillow. I am making the pillow for friends of ours as a house warming gift. They just moved into their new home..... I will display once I finish the projects. Right now I am really into pin cushions for some reason, so every time I see a new one, I want to make it.
Well, I hope you all have a great / safe weekend.
Blog to you soon. Helen

Hump Day Wednesday!
It's Wednesday - 2 more days until the weekend. I'm looking forward to this weekend. I am finishing up a baby quilt for a baby shower I am going to on Saturday, all I have to do is finish the label. It came out pretty cute, my grandson Mikie wanted to keep it, so I had to hide it. On Sunday Mike and I are going riding with some friends along the coast. We will stop off somewhere along the way and have breakfast. Sounds like fun:)
This is a picture from last Sunday's mock class "Portrait Window House" that I taught the girls. The wimzical house is Cyndi's and the vintage one is Mayra's. They are both beautiful. Good job girls! I will be teaching the Portrait Window class in August, so save this link to your favorites! After I taught my class, Mayra taught a class called "Blockheads". Here's her blogspot so check out her blockhead creation. http://www.whimsyamelie.blogspot.com/ It was a lot of fun. I'll have to post my "blockhead" once I download it to my computer.
Don't forget to check out the class schedule for some great classes. http://www.santaclaritacraftlab.com/
Well, it's time for me to hit the hay, since I have to get up at 4 AM to get ready for work.
Good night.

What a relief !
Whew........ Finally, we are getting a little relief from the 100 degree weather! It's a bit cooler now. This past weekend, we had trouble at my house with the AC not working properly and couldn't use it on Saturday or Sunday. My poor cat and dog were melting away. Thank God, it's back in working order now, so now we can get enough sleep and be human again. Wow, when you have sleep deprivation, the brain can't function!
On Saturday, I taught the Portrait Window House mock class and the girls did great! Each house had its own uniqueness. The theme and colors that were used were so different, but beautiful in their own way. I loved the way each person expressed themselves. We had such a great time. Cyndi or I will post them on the web soon. Keep an eye out for the pictures, here's the link to SCCL for your convenience. http://www.santaclaritacraftlab.com/ you can click on Cyndi's blog or mine. I'm not sure who will have the pictures up first. I hope you like them.
I just got an email on a great movie that will be showing in September, check it out.

Have a wonderful Tuesday! Helen

Happy Friday
Good morning,
It's Friday morning & Pay Day! I am looking forward to this weekend. Lots to do. I will be going to a Bridal Shower and a Graduation Party. Then on Sunday, I will be teaching the Portrait Window House class to my fellow instructors. I know they'll just love doing this project!
Maybe Mike (Hubby) and I will squeeze in a morning Bike ride before it gets hot.... This is like the motorcycle he purchased only ours is Silver. I don't have a picture in my computer yet.
Hope you enjoy my blogging.
Have a great weekend and keep cool :)

Wednesday's Vacation Day
Good Day Everyone,
Well, it's Thursday afternoon and I am at work thinking about yesterday's vac day. I took it off to relax at home with my dog "Micah", fiesty cat "Stormy Girl" and most importantly, to work on one of the projects I will be teaching. The Portrait Window House, it came out so cute! The fun thing about this project is you get to add into the windows and door way your own personal photos. You can choose a theme or not and go with it........ The theme I chose is called family memories. I put our wedding picture (in the doorway) and our 3 children, when they were babies, in the 3 windows. Happy memories....... :)
The next house I make will include my grandsons and family pets. I'll think of something fun with this next theme. Oh and the new picture is with my other grandson Anthony with our dog Micah - aren't they great together.... Yes, boys best friend.
I am at home now, thinking about what to make for dinner (another one of my jobs). Hopefully, I will discover something easy to make, since it's already 6:45 PM and everyones hungry....
Well I hope you all had a nice day. Blog to you soon.

Extra Extra Blog all about it!
Good morning All!
It's Tuesday morning and times a flying....... Yes, the Santa Clarita Craft Lab classes are displayed on the Web & are ready for you to register! Take a peek & imagine yourself having fun by creating & expressing yourself thru Art. There's nothing so gratifying as in hand making that special gift for someone or for yourself! I have been sewing quilts (especially baby quilts), pillows & woolfelt items for so long now, but never tire from the experience. I just keep on finding new stuff to sew. In fact, one day I would love to venture into making my own patterns.
I will be teaching the YoYo Pin Cushion class + other cute yoyo items in July. This class will give you all sorts of ideas on using the YoYo. You can use up all those wonderful scraps of fabric that you have lying around!
So take a look at SCCL website: http://www.santaclaritacraftlab.com/ & check out the variety of classes being offered in July.
I look forward to teaching at SCCL with Cyndi, Mayra & Erin. Hope to see you all there! Helen
